Born in 1964 on a farm in Kansas, Robinson's childhood was shaped by the seasons of farm life and the people, animals, and plants who formed her world. These experiences would later profoundly influence her writing and philosophies. Robinson's literary career began in the 1990’s with writing poetry and teaching workshops on creativity through writing, while obtaining a BA in English at Fort Hays State University. She grew in her writing skills, and developed recognition for her writing workshops, which drew fellow writers from her region.
