Acerca del libro
One overriding question that challenges photographers is how does a photograph say more by what it doesn’t say? This thought in particular is the hallmark of trace photography expressing the echo of an image that prompts the dialogue of an open-ended argument. It plays on the resonance of imagination teasing out what evidence may have been once present.
Though the image is invariably only a visual fragment, at the end of it, the trace photograph raises questions begging answers. On this stage, five photographers - Christoph Dobrusskin, Roger Ernest, Charles Janssen Schmidt, Pritam Singh, and Philip Wright - step up to the mic, so to speak, with photograph responses that explore traces as a way of thinking, not just within the frame, but beyond the frame.
