Acerca del libro
The reader is invited to wander through a medley of poems, from the sublime to the ridiculous. Rooted in the land and seascapes of Vancouver Island, the poet riffs on themes raised by renowned writers including James Baldwin, Emily Dickinson, Robert Burns, those of the Bhagavad Gita, Edward Lear, and Robert Frost. Threading itself through the book is the notion that impermanence is a source of freedom and creation.
About the author
A lifelong published writer, Airs on the G String represents Tom Grauman’s first book of poetry. Inept at painting with a brush, the author is condemned to pecking furiously on a keyboard. The author’s theory of writing echoes John Kenneth Galbraith’s description of trickle-down economics, “If one feeds the horse enough oats, some will pass through to the road for the sparrows.”
