Why go to the Netherlands, at Christmas time, when it's so cold?
To enjoy a white Christmas, was my reply.
It became a running 'gag'!
I 'asked' for a white Christmas and I certainly got one.
But it wasn't JUST because I wanted to attend the lighting of the Christmas Tree, on the market square, in front of Gouda's town hall.
It wasn't just because I wanted to share Christmas with our family friend, in The Hague.
It wasn't just so that I could visit the KInderdijk to see the mills.
I had a real reason.
Was it their wish?
They never said so.
But I knew!!
