In early 2020 the emergence and rapid spread of the Covid-19 pandemic put an end to my plans for overseas travel. Movement in general became very restricted. Looking closer to home I took out a map of my home city – Adelaide, South Australia. On that map I drew a circle, 5km in radius centred on the house where I have lived for over thirty years. While much of the circle was occupied by the city centre I was surprised to find that it also encompassed some seventy four individual suburbs. Over the next two years I explored those suburbs, many for the first time, as I walked their every street, past the homes of my neighbours.
