A history of the Chicago and North Western Railway line that began life as a narrow gauge railroad between Galena, Illinois and Platteville, Wisconsin. Eventually it was extended to the "Ridge Runner" connection at Montfort Junction, and standard gauged. The book covers the line until its 1939 abandonment between Galena and Hazel Green Junction, Wisconsin.
