When treasures are buried they aren’t any good to anyone. They sit in the ground where they are kept safe, but they have no value where no one can see or use them. It’s not until they are released from their hiding places that they bring value to the one that mines them. Mining takes time, perseverance, and patience in finding and unearthing precious gems. This is also true of the Bible, it is a treasure given to us by God, that is priceless for those who mine within its pages. The miners, or readers, get the treasure of knowledge and wisdom, but the biggest treasure is the time spent with God each day.
