When a friend of mine told me he was moving from Colorado to Los Angeles, I was pretty excited, but once he told me he was actually driving it, in a 1968 Mercedes named The Duchess, I bought a flight to Boulder. The trip started with a few days in Boulder and then we were on our way - the cargo, various objects from my friend's life, including a keyboard. We started in Boulder, made our way through Utah and Zion National Park, a smaller sliver of Arizona, then Nevada, and finally home to California. Though we were tested at times, and the Duchess was pushed to her limit, the trip was a resounding success, and now if pay attention, you may see The Duchess in all her glory driving on the West Side.
