Acerca del creador
Chuck Lathrop is a painter working in acrylics and encaustic. He is also a printmaker and environmental installation artist. In 2017 Lathrop added photography and digital work to his oeuvre. In the mid-1990s Lathrop adopted the process of automatism for painting and mark making. Today this working method is basic to all of his creative endeavors. He is also a poet His work has been shown in United States and Asia and is in private, public and corporate collections. In addition to his showing own work he has curated or co-curated shows at the South Shore Art Center, Cohasset, MA; Fuller Art Museum (now the Fuller Craft Museum), Brockton, MA; Downtown Contemporary Gallery, Albuquerque, NM and owned Leich Lathrop Gallery, Albuquerque, NM from 2012 to 2013. Lathrop attended classes at the Munson Williams Proctor Institute, Utica, NY; Massachusetts College of Art, Boston, MA; and School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, Boston, MA.
