Acerca del libro
"I saw a tree shaking from the cold
So I knit him a sweater out of the clouds
It's very soft but very fragile
So please, Mr. North wind
Could you stop blowing so hard?"
Writer and illustrator Chika Shimizu’s book of drawings and poetry in both Japanese and English walks the thin line between the world of children and adults. Encapsulating friendship, happiness, longing, loneliness and love in ways that readers of all ages and both languages can understand. Shimizu’s sense of whimsy and the deceptive simplicity of her restrained black and white illustrations both disguise and reinforce a greater purpose- culling the depths of the human heart.
